As most of the people closet to me know, I tend to enjoy getting tattoos. At this current moment I have 5 of them. Each one means something to me and that is what matters the most.
My First Tatto

The Yin Yang
This tattoo was my first. It it the Yin Yang symbol. It expresses how everything has a light and dark, good and bad, hot and cold side. I actually picked this tattoo off the wall of the parlor because I did not know what to get, but I found the meaning to me.
It showed to the world that I knew and accepted my light and dark side. That I was taking the good with the bad no matter what. At the point in my life when I got this I was slightly angry at everything and everyone which is why I chose to add the red to it. It signified the anger, the rage that I held inside.
My Second Tattoo

The Infinity Symbol
This was the second tattoo that I got. It was within a year of the first. It is the infinity symbol. It symbolizes the never-ending cycle that is everything--life, love, hate, forgiveness, anything you can imagine. The red symbolized the negative aspect of life to me. It was the hatred and evil that was embodied in everyday life. The blue symbolized the calm---the refreshing waters that soothed the savage beast.
It was a symbol of hot and cold. The ability to switch from one to another at the slightest moment without hesitation.
My Third Tattoo

Chinese for Tranquil
This is my third tattoo which was done within a year of the previous one. This is probably one of the simplest ones I have. It is the Chinese words for Tranquil. It was my way of showing to the word that people can be peaceful. I may not always abide by the meaning, but in general I try my hardest to stay calm. As steady as a pond when the ripples stop.
There are two others that will wait until next time. At this moment I reflect back to getting these three and realize that each one was during a decision that I made in my life. This is my way of expressing myself through art and the portrait is me....
