School, School, School!

Courtesy of Georgetown's Blog of Record Since 1969
Sitting at home at 3:30 in the morning and what am I doing? I am thinking about school work and what needs to be done. Trying to accomplish as much as possible before the work week begins and I cannot focus too much on class.

Prison Pen Pals

So I just happened to be up most of the night and decided to download the AOL desktop version. As I loaded the program I saw the "my favorites" tab and clicked on it to find many old favorites that I had lost when I deleted and stopped using the AOL desktop version.
One of the tabs happened to be a search of prison pen pals sites. Therefore, I gave it another shot thinking that it had been at least several years since so I was older and wiser and could give this a shot.

Time Moves So Fast…

I cannot begin to wonder about why time moves so fast. It is scary to think how fast time moves. In the blink of an eye a year runs by.
Lately, I have been contemplating how little time we take to do the things that we enjoy. We are always in a rush to do something, but rarely sit back and relax and enjoy ourselves.

Writing Books

So today I went online and stumbled upon Blurb. It has to be the most fascinating website that I have ever stumbled upon. It is your own personal book printing website. You can go online create a book, have it printed, shipped and even sold. It is amazing. I went online to make a memory book of my niece for the last year and a half and it did take some time because I am anal retentive when it comes to things like that, but well worth the time and money.

Why Is Life So Hectic?

Sunrise Over Downtown Manhattan

Every morning the sun begins to rise over the city and another day begins. Alarms start going off sounding like an annoying symphony, birds are chirping harshly, the heat index rises, and more and more noise begins to emanate from the city streets.

Jobs...To Find or Not To Find

Who has not seen this before? Scouring the newspapers and online ads to find work. It is sickening that this happens. And half the time there is never a decent job to be had.

What are we to do? The Daily News, The NY Post, The Staten Island Advance, Craigslist, CareerBuilder. Just a few of the online sites, as well as, newspapers to go job hunting with. What happened to the old days when you could work at the corner store and not have a problem making money for the bills?

Horrible Tippers...Tell Me Why?

Courtesy of Tumblr Pictures
Today is Wednesday, and of course I have to work as usual...money doesn't grow off trees you know, and if you do see it happen bring me some cash....This is why I thought about horrible tippers.

Please explain to me how you go out to eat dinner and then you leave a bad tip. Did you know that a server makes horrible minimum wage? In NYC a server's minimum wage is $4.65 per hour plus their tips which they are then taxed on. In NJ it is $2.13 an hour plus their tips get taxed as well. Therefore, a server makes anywhere from $0 to around $25,000 a year in steady restaurant. Yes, they can earn a lot more in other places, but this is the typical amount to my knowledge.

Any thoughts?

Hey Doc...What Took You So Long?!

Courtesy of Cartoonstock.com
Yesterday I went to the doctor's office to get some tests done. What I cannot seem to understand is that even with an appointment time I am never seen on time!!!

What is the point of appointment if you can never be seen at that time? Even if I do get seen I am usually in and out within 10 minutes of seeing the doctor. How come it takes so long for a doctor to come see me?

Final Notice to the Government

Final Notice to the U.S. Government...
Pay your people first and others last.
Bills, bills, bills! That is all we hear from the government. We owe this much money and if we do not borrow more we will not be able to continue to make payments on our bills.
